Construction X3
2007 is going to bring big changes to all three Gregg's locations. The new Bellevue store will be completed by mid March with a move in date by March 31st. This new store is on Bellevue Way two blocks south of Bellevue Square and will be about twice the size at 11,000 SF of our existing store . We will have parking for 22 cars. The is the first store that we have owned that will have been built from the ground up to be a bicycle store. We hope you like it!
Not to be out done, the Aurora store will be moved to just north of the Alderwood Mall at 18021 Alderwood Mall Parkway. We were not able to renew our lease at the current location and a move to this area gives better market coverage for the three stores. In contrast to the present location, the new site has abundant parking and is located on a bicycle pathway. This move will take place in the January-February time frame. We regret that this landmark store (successfully operated since 1937) must be moved, but the matter was beyond our control.
Lastly, for those that shop at the Greenlake store, you have probably experienced the "Woodlawn Waltz" when your bike or other purchases had to be retrieved from our warehouse up the street from the shop. We have utilized off site warehouse space on Woodlawn for the past 30 plus years, but this option is ending for us with the redevelopment of our warehouse sites. Thus in January, we intend to begin construction of a partial second story at our Greenlake building with completion planned for July of 2007. This will necessitate a demolition of the current service and rental areas with these functions being temporarily relocated nearby. Please excuse the inconvenience during the construction period. We will be fully operational, but the construction activity will require the "Woodlawn Waltz" for just a few more months. The new structure will provide an updated service area and larger meeting area for customer seminars as well as the convenience of having all of our functions under one roof.

I expect that waltz to really negatively impact the experience of anyone that's come to expect efficient and friendly service between the service shop and the parts desk.

We are doing everything possible to continue to provide efficient and friendly service to all of our customers. As with any construction project there will be some difficulties and challenges. We have taken all of this into consideration and planned for everything we can think of to make sure that this is as painless a process as possible for both our customers and our employees. This construction will be completed before we know it and we are really excited about how much better things will look at work when the construction is complete.
