Greenlake Addition Getting Close

As many of you know, along with moving the Aurora store to Alderwood and building a brand new store in Bellevue, we've also been doing an addition to the Greenlake store. Since 1932 Gregg's Greenlake Cycle has sat unchanged on the corner of Woodlawn and Ravenna. The building has been in the family since then and it was not without great reason that it has been changed. And that reason is the recent expansion in the Greenlake neighborhood. For years we had a large warehouse across the street at what is now "The Greenlake" condos. They are beautiful and we welcome them but it did change a few things for us. For the last few years we've been using a space near the old Vitamilk dairy for our warehouse. While not perfect this worked well for us . Soon, this space will also be torn down for mixed use buildings. Again, we welcome the change for the neighborhood but it left us with some pretty weighty decisions of our own. To be the successful bike shop that we've been for the last 75 years we've always need a great deal of storage. So, after careful consideration, it was decided that we would put the whole operation under one roof and build our own warehouse and new retail area of the store. The pictures below are what we have to date. This project is looking to be done in the next six weeks or so.

Bike To Work Day '07

What a great day for the Starbucks Bike to Work Day! The weather couldn't have been much better and there were hundreds of riders that passed by the Greenlake station, over 400 riders in fact. Once again Cascade has put on a great event and with the help of LuluLemon Athletica the Greenlake Station was again one of the most used in the city. Check out below for some pictures of the day.

Alderwood Grand Opening Huge Success!

The weather cooperated with us and we had a great turn out to the Gregg's Alderwood Cycle Grand opening. Thanks to everyone that came out to see us and to all the industry reps that came out to support the event. It was great to meet more people in the Lynnwood area and to hear that people were happy that we moved into the area. Gregg's Alderwood Cycle has been open at 18021 Alderwood Mall Pkwy now for about 2 months and we're having a great time connecting with the local community and serving the Snohomish County and areas north.

Walter did a great job grilling the hamburgers, turkey burgers and tofu burgers. A little something for everyone included some great hot dogs!
Jim managed to hand out a few samples and do a few bicycle safety checks for the people that came by.
Trek Factory Reps, Kurt and Dax had a great time with the bicycle powered virgin margarita maker. Darn tasty!
Trek had a bunch of bike that some lucky customers got to take out on extended demo rides.
Specialized Factory Rep Reagan was out to show off the new Enduro, Roubaix and Tarmac.
The Star 101.5 booth (this was early in the day which is why it looks a little lonely) ended up being ahit with kids and they gave away all kinds of great prizes.
More lucky customers getting ready for their demo rides.
