I replaced the Sram Red group that I had on my bike last year with Di2, and while it added a bit to the overall weight of my bike, I'm becoming more and more convinced that it's worth the extra weight. Last night completely sold me. I went out on my first real road ride for the year last night after work. I enjoyed every second with the new group. The hoods are comfortable, with increased surface area on the upper portion of the hood...they fit my hands perfect. The brakes feel snappy, have a lot of power, and have a really stiff spring that adds to a really crisp lever return. Rear der shifting was excellent. You can't shift up two cogs at once like with 7900 DA, but you can tap that button pretty quick, and with a lot less effort than throwing the lever all the way over. The front der and crankset were incredible. Every time I shifted from the small chainring to the large up front, I was startled with the shift. It's an understatement to say that the shift was immediate. It was like Ferrari paddle shifting...the chain doesn't make a sound or have the slightest hesitation. You literally push a button, and despite the torque on the drivetrain, the chain is ramped to the large ring before you even realize you've shifted. All I noticed was a cadence change - no skipping, no hesitation, no noise, NO EFFORT! I give it an A+ on performance. I'm excited to put some miles on it this year...I have a feeling it will only get better as I get used to operating the system.
